大数据和人工智能是近年来十分热门的学术和社会话题。本次报告介绍在贝叶斯框架、压缩感知和高斯过程在大数据机器学习方面的最新研究成果,以及在视觉系统、无线传感器网络和自主飞行器等系统中的目标识别、跟踪、融合、推理和控制技术。
谢菲尔德大学(QS2018排名82位)自动控制与系统工程系是英国最大的致力于控制和系统工程教学和研究的系,在REF2014(科研卓越框架2014)全英排名第一,在计算机科学学科排名第5,在电子电气学科排名第8。本报告还介绍在学生交流培养和招收国际研究生方面的机会。
Big Data and artificial intelligence are hot academic and social topics in recent years. This talk presents the latest research of machine learning in big data field with Bayesian methods, compressed sensing and Gaussian Processes, as well as applications of object recognition, tracking, fusion, inference and control in smart video surveillance, wireless networks and UAVs. It will also give a brief introduction of student education and project collaboration opportunities.

Lyudmila Mihaylova教授是英国谢菲尔德大学自动控制与系统工程系的信号处理和控制学术主席,是多传感器信息和数据融合与处理方面的专家。她领导着具有国际影响的研究团队,致力于研究自主智能系统的传感、跟踪和决策的新方法,应用领域包括运输系统,辅助生活,导航,监控和传感器网络系统等。Mihaylova教授于2016年3月当选为国际信息融合学会(ISIF)主席。她是ISIF的董事会成员,也是IEEE高级会员。
Speaker’s Biography
Prof Lyudmila Mihaylova is Chair of Signal Processing and Control with the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, an expert in the areas of multi-sensor information and data fusion and processing. Prof Mihaylova and her team are working to develop novel methods for autonomous intelligent systems: for sensing, tracking and decision making with applications such as transportation systems, assisted living, navigation, surveillance and sensor network systems. Prof Mihaylova was elected in March 2016 as a president of the International Society of Information Fusion (ISIF). She is on the board of Directors of ISIF and a Senior IEEE member.
